Huh, I have the same configuration except swap the DP module for a 1TB storage module and I ordered 5 days earlier than you, still no email for me.
@TheRealBGoat i imagine we’re on the same list and the sort order is just not quite chronological. Hopefully you’ll see your email today!
The Framework has a resolution of 2256x1504. 1504>1440.
TL;DR: The Framework’s screen is around halfway between a 1080p and 1440p screen in regards to resolution and PPI.
If you multiply the vertical and horizontal resolutions of the Framework’s screen and a typical 1440p screen (2560x1440), you’ll see that the total pixel count of the Framework is just a bit less than a typical 1440p screen.
2256 x 1504 = 3,393,024
2560 x 1440 = 3,686,400
Compare that to a typical 1080p screen:
1920 x 1080 = 2,703,600
And compare the pixel density of a 13.3" screen of these resolutions:
PPI of 2256 x 1504 in 13.5" screen: 200.84px
PPI of 2560 x 1440 in 13.3" screen: 220.84px
PPI of 1920 x 1080 in 13.3" screen: 165.63px
You can see that the Framework loses a little bit in total pixel count and PPI compared to a comparable 16:9 screen with 1440p resolution, but the difference compared to a 16:9 screen with 1080p resolution is bigger and more noticeable. You also make up for it with the Framework having a bit more screen area and an aspect ratio that is better for productivity.
So, I just got mine, and I’m wondering if anyone has any troubleshooting thoughts on a … kind of big issue.
I got the DIY kit, RAM, wifi card, and put in one of the storage expansion cards, no NVMe SSD. I’m going to install Windows to an expansion card since I only use it occasionally. Anyways, boot up my Ventoy USB with all the ISOs on it, get into Win10 installer, and when typing in my license key… hitting certain keys includes another key. For example, hit 9, get “49.” Hit 4, get “49.” Does this with other keys, too. T or O always gets “to” . So, I reboot to Ubuntu live CD, open text editor, same thing. Take it back apart to check the ribbons or look for damage, don’t see anything, every ribbon felt good but redid just to be safe. Boot back up into Ubuntu, same thing. Luckily earlier today I made a straight Win10 USB installer, too, and tried that… same thing. Tried it with and without the back screws tightened, too, just out of curiosity but I think it shouldn’t make a difference… and it didn’t.
So, I got a busted keyboard. Already submitted a support ticket, but curious if anyone has any suggestions for things to check? I haven’t unscrewed the keyboard screws yet to take a closer look at it, but can’t imagine I’ll find anything.
It seems like I ordered the same day as you. Same CPU and WiFi but also RAM and SSD. I also haven’t gotten a charge or shipping notification
I also want to add that my Framework laptop came with literally NO plastic. Everything, from the laptop packaging, to the envelope that the modules came in, to the box that it was shipped in, was paper. The envelope that the modules came in even had paper fluff inside of it to protect the modules. The only thing that wasn’t paper was the envelope that the WiFi card came in, but even that was bioplastic, and it was the tiniest container in the box. Also, there were no fancy coatings or paints on the packaging either, it was all just plain brown cardboard.
I am SUPER impressed with Framework’s dedication to sustainability not just in their products themselves, but in the packaging they’re shipped in. Not once have I seen a product shipped with such care to the environment. Hats off to you, Framework. You actually care.
I feel like we’re all just hanging out in the line in a Bank waiting to get service or something. (or by the double’s man). Is anyone still here 2 weeks after getting their laptop? Pics or it didn’t happen!
Got my laptop today after being 2 days late cause FedEx sucks. Anyway, very impressed with the build quality. Amazing sustainable packaging. Better performance in cinebench than my 2 year old gaming laptop. Already have a bunch of ideas for possible mods. Great job framework team!

Just got my email earlier today! It’s supposed to ship to me within the week. I think someone earlier was right about the ram, ssd, and other components being the cause of many of our delays (I say this because I shelled out extra for the 1185G7 to make it into this batch -my old laptop is failing on me- and even I ended up waiting anyways) All of that said I’m extremely excited!
@Edward_Cole_Hajek, does that mean that if I opt to change my order for just the bare bones (not even the wifi card) that I should get the order sooner?
P.S. I ordered the i5 version on July 28th.
@Shawn_Lewis you would need to cancel your original order and reorder the configuration you want which would put you in the next batch making the wait longer so I wouldn’t do it if I were you.
Has anyone in batch 3 with a 1 TB storage expansion card in their order received a “Preparing to ship” email?
