Social presence on Bluesky?

Can SMM team please create an official account on https://bsky.app?

Or at least follow https://fed.brid.gy/ from Mastodon, so that people on Bluesky can follow it through the bridge.

I’d appreciate that as well.

I found this thread looking for the Framework bluesky account.

Would definitely be popular - note that Bluesky just hit 20 million users (vs the Fediverse’s 10 million) and is currently seeing spikes of 1 million signups a day at times (vs the Fediverse’s 1 million monthly active users). I’m a big fan of fedi services as well, but at least a bridge account would be nice since bsky definitely has the momentum on its side right now.

Personally I’ve found cross-posting works well too, as quite a few services for this (e.g. Buffer) support Bluesky already.

One more vote from me for Framework’s presense in Bsky. I don’t use Twitter at all, and honestly never understood the reason to use it.

With Bsky, I now found people I want to follow and it became a really great place for first-hand news on everything, and I hope Framework becomes another account source I can follow for Framework news and annoucements.

Worth noting that somebody else has now created a Bluesky account in Framework’s name at @frameworkputer.bsky.social on Bluesky (I’m assuming it’s not real - it doesn’t use the domain name, hasn’t posted anything and isn’t referenced anywhere else I can see) and has 800 followers already. There’s obviously people trying to follow Framework there, would be great to see a real account set up.

It’s been brought up in a seperate thread. Is @frameworkputer.bsky.social legit?

I do wish FW would get a Bluesky.

Noticed that an account on bluesky exists (@frameworkputer.bsky.social on Bluesky) that seems to mimic frameworks username they use on other social sites.

theres no logo, posts, or domain verification though so im skeptical as to whether this is legit.

also skeptical about the @niravpatel.bsky.social on Bluesky account

I don’t think @frameworkputer.bsky.social is them. They haven’t announced being on bsky and one would expect they would at least post something if it was them. People have asked that Framework get an account or at least setup bridging from their Mastodon account. Social presence on Bluesky?

Not sure about @niravpatel.bsky.socia. Probably just a different Nirav Patel. startpage search Nirav Patel

Bumping this one.

People keep linking to posts on X. They can’t be viewed without an active account, and I deleted mine 6+ months ago when I became clear that things were only going to get worse. X is irretrievably tainted now IMO, and it’s only going to get worse.

At least dual post to Bluesky as well as X please.

Mastodon user here, +1. At the very least @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org should follow @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy for that audience.

I saw that Framework announced their Bluesky account below at this post on Mastodon

The Bluesky link is still missing on the Framework website (https://frame.work/)'s footer - Social area.

On the following post, Framework is sharing something, maybe a video. However, as I don’t have Bluesky account, I cannot see what is shared. Anyone, could you tell me what is shared, and the link of the video? Thanks.

Bluesky makes signing up for an account easy & painless, btw.

Thanks for the link! Okay, I saw the video on Framework’s Mastodon account.

While I can technically create an account on Fluesky, I hesitate to do it. I understand what I am doing is not really consistent. But I stopped and removed most or all of my social media accounts 9 years ago, and I feel like I want to keep this state. So, yeah, I will check their Mastdon account if I can not see some links on Bluesky.

Well, I certainly can not blame you. I actually haven’t logged into my accounts for checking feeds or anything in a month or more. And I should really keep it like that. Life is too short & time moves too fast.

My only concern of Bluesky is “the people there” overall.

While X has lot of hate and bots (same with reddit), Bluesky is one of the worst performers about hate and anger, they are effectively an echo chamber from people who left X.

Adobe joined Bluesky by users asking them, just like this. Solved: Bluesky? - Adobe Community - 14986676

Just one mistake from Framework could lead the whole Bluesky network to get mad and bash their company.

The Fediverse in other hand does a better job, you can stop federating with servers without proper moderation.

Adobe and Photoshop feels about as far from Framework as one can get. Haters of what Adobe does, are exactly those that love what Framework endeavors to do.

I’m not 100% sure about that, for example earlier this year the company GoRetroid, a company who offers a premium portable retro console with good support overall, Linux support, generic fixable parts, and community chats where some employees also join, got severely attacked by “radical buyers” because one of their consoles had an unfixable screen design issue only 1% of the buyers would really notice.

Not just that, some people went far enough to doxx their employees information to internet, just because the company offered solutions/workarounds they don’t like.

GoRetroid, a Chinese company, had to go far enough to issue some personal mortgage from the owner in order to provide a real solution and invest into new screen designs and free replacements to prevent mass escalation from those “small but radical group of people”.

And Framework does same at the computers world. Imagine if Framework 12 gets massively sold around the world but they get some unfixable issue at the mainboard, the cost to fix the board and offer free replacement (+ free shipping) would be massive.

Framework is not perfect as you would imagine, for example, I bought my F16 laptop during tax free day, and Framework refused to comply with my state laws in the US and kept my taxes (almost 160USD). The tax collection office told me seller must offer refunds but Framework support totally refused it.
