[Solved] Mystery Box Mainboard Missing pieces on pcb

Hello Everyone,

I just unboxed my mainboard mystery box that I bought on Friday (pretty fast shipping!) with the hopes of getting a cheap new home server. Unfortunately when I put in a charger nothing happens. No lights, no fans spinning, no components getting warm. When I looked up some photos of the mainboard I noticed that 2 parts are missing on my mainboard next to the power button. Has anyone an idea what those parts do and if they is they are critical? Or any other things to try? I don’t want to give up quite yet. I attached a photo from framework as well as one from mine. Its a Intel core ultra series 1 ultra 5 125h.

Thank you,

Thomas

I’m going to guess you mean the large white & black components (with orange squares) marked JECBD1 & JPD1. Those are just connectors. Likely for debugging during earlier board manufacturing steps. It’s normal for such connectors to be not populated / not included on production circuit boards.

Thank you for the answer!

What be some other things I could try? Using a multimeter to test the Usb-C Ports or something?
