[solved] Ryzen 7 wakes up after suspending Debian 13, Ryzen AI 300 does not

Which Linux distro are you using?

Debian

Which release version?

13

Which kernel are you using?

6.12.63+deb13-amd64

Which BIOS version are you using?

03.05

Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using?

AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series

We have two Framework laptops in my home. A 16” laptop with a Ryzen 7 7840HS CPU, and a brand new 13” machine with the new AI chip in it.

Both machines run Debian 13. The Ryzen 7 wakes up after suspending it. The AI chip doesn’t.

There are several threads on this forum about Framework laptops not waking up after closing the lid. I have gone through all of them and tried lots of suggestions. Nothing works. It is driving me mad.

Here’s a full overview of the Framework 13 if it helps:

Like right away? After some time? When you connect/disconnect the power?

Can you clarify?

The 16 will wake up from ac power connect/disconnect after using certain chargers. It’s been a bug in firmware for a while that framework hasn’t been that interested in fixing.

I’m not complaining about the Ryzen 7. It is behaving fine. It’s the Ryzen AI 300 that is giving me trouble. It just won’t ever wake up from sleep mode, no matter which button I click. I always have to do a hard reboot.

Ha. The latest firmware update fixed the issue!
