I’m on Arch with KDE Plasma, and I’ve noticed that after using my FW12 for a while the touchscreen starts acting weird. I’m not sure what triggers it, some days it works fine all day but other times (like today) after a few hours the touch input becomes unusable.
When it happens just touching the screen makes it behave like I’m zooming in or pressing multiple points at once. Pen input works fine and so do the mouse and touchpad. I haven’t changed any libinput settings and a reboot always fixes it temporarily sometimes a sleep mode even fixes it. I never had this happen on my old lenovo running arch + Kde
Anyone else with this issue or know what might cause it?
Turns out it was my chargers fault
the issue immedeatly goes away when i unplug my charger so i suspec it messes with the capacative inputs due to it being cheap and probably noisy
I just found this thread, because I have similar issues on Fedora 43. A reboot fixes it, but it is almost like it notices input at a point that I am not touching. It acts as if I am clicking though. I noticed that for example in game where a mouse click triggers an action or on a touchscreen tester I noticed I can’t really press the sides of the screen.
When it happens it is also hard to reboot since it wont register a click or immediately click again so that the reboot button is unclickable.
I also tested it briefly with a live usb, but didn’t get the issue which might also be due to only being used for 5min, I probably should do that again…
Could this be caused by a screen protector? I have recently put a screen protector on and I am not sure if I had the issue before as well…
Here it is in action. I had to hold down the power button to restart. I couldn’t do anything:
