I am unable to update Fedora as it comes up with the following error while checking old versions against the new versions, and this stops the download: -
package google-chrome-stable-146.0.7680.164-1.x86_64 cannot be verified and repo google-chrome is GPG enabled: /var/cache/PackageKit/42/metadata/google-chrome-42-x86_64/packages/google-chrome-stable-146.0.7680.164-1.x86_64.rpm could not be verified.
/var/cache/PackageKit/42/metadata/google-chrome-42-x86_64/packages/google-chrome-stable-146.0.7680.164-1.x86_64.rpm: digest: SIGNATURE: NOT OK
I have also tried updating to Fedora 43, but the same error halts that download.
What do I need to do to sort out the Chrome signature?
TIA
Hi @Alan_Pearce, a stab in the dark here… why not uninstall Chrome, then upgrade from 42 to 43 and then reinstall Chrome… or even ditch Chrome and go with a more Privacy focused browser.
Alternatively the issue you describe is fixable and a solution can be found by simply searching on the error you shared (I use Brave search).
I had figured that was the problem, but how to get around it. Your instructions proved to work. Now how to update Chrome so it doesn’t keep nagging me that it is out of date.
