I am trying to update a 12th Gen board in standalone mode via EFI, and it seems to run happily to completion, but it hasn’t actually updated.
I had previously updated to 3.06 for standalone mode successfully, which was working fine, but I’ve run into a problem with boot-on-attach (see "Power on AC attach" not working for Intel 12th gen in standalone mode - #3 by Daniel_Schaefer) and it seems I’m not fully up to date, so I was hoping that updating to 3.08 would resolve this.
However, after running the update the BIOS still says “InsydeH20 Version: HFW30.03.06” (i.e. the 3.06 update, as I understand it). I’ve flashed and booted from a 3.08d USB. I’ve just checked and the files are correct, and e.g. the FWupdate.txt contains “ME 16.1.30.2269” which matches the CSME version listed above.
The first time I ran the update, it went through the steps just fine (requesting that the power cable was attached to the correct ports, rebooting etc). Now it appears to say that the system is already up to date: “Full FW update using same version is not allowed” and does nothing.
How should I resolve this?
