However, after running the update the BIOS still says “InsydeH20 Version: HFW30.03.06” (i.e. the 3.06 update, as I understand it). I’ve flashed and booted from a 3.08d USB. I’ve just checked and the files are correct, and e.g. the FWupdate.txt contains “ME 16.1.30.2269” which matches the CSME version listed above.
The first time I ran the update, it went through the steps just fine (requesting that the power cable was attached to the correct ports, rebooting etc). Now it appears to say that the system is already up to date: “Full FW update using same version is not allowed” and does nothing.
I’ve had the same issue for months, really frustrated that there doesn’t seem to be a fix for this. Bought an arc 770 and an egpu enclosure to use with my old intel 12th gen mainboard as an AI server, but without being able to update the firmware and get REBAR support, it’s just been sitting.
I a bit odd that they say if you upgrade to 3.08, it’s impossible to downgrade past 3.06 because the left side ports won’t work, but because I upgraded to 3.08, any monitor I connect via HDMI/DP/USB-C will no longer work if I connect them to the right side ports. At this point, I would love to downgrade, but I also can’t seem to find 3.06 to download. It’s no longer productive for me to use this laptop for work, and this is the only reason I have it.
Did the port firmware get updated succesfully. I know the bios might have been, but the left side and right side uses its own firmware and should also have been updated. did you contact support about your particular issue?
I dont think a module new firmware would be required, altho I did perform it on my hdmi module, after i changed the hardware mod. I think that would not be the issue.
EDIT: 12th Gen Intel Core BIOS 3.08 Release shows besides the bios, also other parts getting a version bump, forgot how to check but are those also updated on yours and are both sides the same version? I had trouble with one side and eventually with the latest version somehow I was able to bumb it.
For what it’s worth, I ended up updating with the EFI updated, and it worked, but I’m still disappointed that, after all this time (over a year at this point), we still don’t have a LVFS update.
I dont expect a LVFS update as the official people stated there are multiple parts of this update (collection) that needs updating, of which the Intel CSME cant be done over LVFS?
