I am pretty disappointed with the way this laptop has worked out. The quality was never great, thermals worse, and battery life abysmal, but at least it was (technically) repairable.
Power issues have escalated over time to the point where it’s nigh unusable. Every couple of hours the laptop locks itself into 400MHz cpu on all cores, and the only way to get it to unlock is to power down and unplug for several minutes. Trust me, I have tried everything and I am a software engineer and know my wa…

My Framework is a 12th gen w/ the i7-1280p running Gentoo Linux w/ a custom 6.2.8 kernel.
I’ve installed and kinda randomly messed with all the tools on that other thread - RAPL settings, thermald, all that, but it hasn’t really changed behavior any.
At rest, my CPU cores sit at 400Hz and 2000MHz (depending on the type). Under load, they all drop to 400Hz and sit there.
Here’s a s-tui scree…
Hi,
this is more to help other people from wasting time tracking this one down. I have a 13th Gen Intel 1370p (with 64GB RAM/ WD 850x/wifi) which I’ve run in a Cooler master case since new (I also have a proper Framework 13 laptop running Intel 1340p with 64GB RAM and WD850x too).
Recently it started to show dreadful performance - it is running Windows 11 23H2 and the obvious thing is that there was a software update which didn’t like the motherboard, so I tried all the obvious things of backi…
Running, Arch, been having issues with my CPU seemingly being locked at 400mhz since the weekend.
Is there a bug somewhere in recent kernel versions? Can anyone suggest a configuration option to try and address the issue.
The first of these posts had quite a lot of discussion recently. It looks like a longstanding problem that is affecting certain classes of Intel processor, and not just on Framework hardware.
