According to the pinout provided in the listing it is 2 lane eDP. I’m wondering if it is feasable to use a simple 0.5 pitch 40 pin to 0.4 pitch 40 pin adapter? (https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255801009522010.html) Or would there need to be a proper control board that terminates the 2 touch lanes, even though the touch is not done over eDP on this screen.
From what I could tell, it uses the same or a very similar panel to that of the ROG Ally.
For context: I am attempting to make my own custom handheld with the framework 13 motherboard as the brain. And ideally, I would like to use as few components as possible, so re-using the internal eDP would be a huge win.
I made a mockup of a simple converter for the framework eDP to the screen’s eDP connector. If somebody could confirm or deny my sanity before I order it, that would be cool.
I did also make sure that every trace (not including grounds) was the same length ±0.001mm
How did this go? Although I mucked through in the original thread you linked I am no expert, just wondering if you pulled the trigger and gave this a go.
