Discuss the Framework Laptop 13, spanning each of the generations since the first launch and both DIY Edition and pre-built configurations.
Dear Framework Team,
I have been interested in your products for several years. Especially since you offer Zen4 Ryzen processors, I am considering one of your laptops as a replacement for my M1 MacBook Pro (base configuration). However, I am wondering why you only offer the 61Wh battery with the Ryzen 7? So far only U Series Zen4 chips are offered for the Framework 13", will the HS Series which is offered for the Framework 16" follow?
Hi and welcome.
There are two notable wants still,
a) a touch screen
b) an oled screen.
The 61W is available for the 13Gen Intel Performance and Pro
The 61W is not default on the basic models of the Ryzen or the 13th Gen
Ryzen™ 5 7640U configuration contains 55Wh battery. Ryzen™ 7 7840U configurations contain higher capacity 61Wh battery. Designed to provide up 80% of its original capacity at 1000 cycles.
i5-1340P configuration contains 55Wh battery. i7-1360P, and i7-1370P configurations contain higher capacity 61Wh battery. Designed to provide up 80% of its original capacity at 1000 cycles.
i second this. Touch screen option and oled would be nice. by no means the current screen is bad but i love this computer and those upgrades would keep me saying that for a long time.
another thing i would like is UMA specified options to the bios. could we get that? it should be only changing a few variables would it? i have gone lengths jus tto be able to run it with 16gb vram dedicated. I know it is a waste of ram but several experimental and old software does not allocate vram dynamically.
