Accidental Banana Incident with Framework Power Adapter – What Should I Do?

Hey folks,
I had a bit of a weird situation today and could use some advice.

I was out cycling with my Framework laptop’s power adapter 60W in my bag. I also had a banana in there (don’t ask ), and after hitting a bumpy stretch of road, things got… messy. The adapter apparently got smashed into the banana, and I think a bit of juice might have leaked into it.

Later, I tried plugging it in at a cafe, but had a strange experience — though it’s possible the outlet there was just faulty.

Right now, I’m thinking it’s best to wait a day or so and let it dry completely before trying again.
Does anyone have experience with something like this? Any tips? Should I open it up, or just be patient?

Appreciate any advice!

I don’t have experience with this kind of thing, but I agree with your feeling that you should let the charger dry thoroughly, because bananas and other fruit tend to be good conductors. I don’t know how likely it is for the banana juice to cause shorts after it’s dried.

You might want to follow guidance for dealing with soda spills, because I suspect that soda and banana juice are chemically and electrically similar (although banana juice might be less acidic).
