Advice on preserving battery health of framework 12

My framework laptop 12 13th gen (which I got for college) arrived yesterday, and I’m really enjoying it so far. I want to configure it to maximize the battery longevity. Here’s the linux commands I’ve used to configure it:

sudo framework-system --charge-current-limit 250
sudo framework-system --charge-limit 85

I’ve only used the laptop for one college day at time of writing, but once I’ve used it a bit more I’ll be able to say how much charge I’m normally getting through in a day and how many hours I normally leave the laptop to charge for overnight. From my understanding it’s good to slow charge the battery overnight, so that’s why the charge current limit is so low (possibly even too low for me to be able to get a full charge overnight, depending on how many hours I leave it to charge for).

Are these settings good? Is there a point of diminishing returns as you reduce the charge limit and the charge current limit? I’m not planning on bringing a charging brick into college, but how much would I be able to increase the battery longevity if I did?

I always fast charge my phone and my computer, there’s very little gain of slow charging these days. Percentage limit is far more important so just set the 85%. If you really want to slow charge, set the current limit to 1500-2000

There is a Gnome extension for adjusting the charge limits which is very useful I find.

I usually have it set to 80% but occasionally when I won’t be able to charge for a long time I can just press a button and set it to 100%.

Same here - I’m using Gnome extension Battery Health Charging - GNOME Shell Extensions very convenient .

With in the current BIOs there is a charge limit you can set. Like I set it to 60% of battery charge and it will cap out to that charge limit. Yes, you can set it to a different charge limit of your choosing.
