My wife’s FW 12 (Windows 11) was having issues with sound, so I was trying to get it all updated (BIOS, drivers). I got the bios update started from the .exe file and it rebooted. The BIOS update screen showed up, and it got through the BIOS and the EC updates. I then had to step away to help a child and came back to a blank screen. The LED indicator was not showing even though the power cord is plugged in.

I also tried resetting the mainboard. That didn’t do anything that I can tell. Any help is appreciated.
Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the BIOS… again…
If there aren’t even any blink codes showing when you turn on the laptop with the power plugged in, something might be seriously wrong with the BIOS. You should contact support.

From the various posts, there appears to be a pattern for updates, where the BIOS and EC seem to work, but the PD fails.
And leaving the display blank after it fails, isn’t exactly helpful is it! In my view, the bios update program is badly written and not fit for purpose. It needs to do something called fail safely. This generally means that if the update fails, it should be able to rollback to a known good set before the user reboots the laptop. I.e. the state it is left in should at least boot.
