I donāt have time to install an OS and get it all set up right now. But I did pop in the SSD and RAM, screw it together and powered it up. No fire or anything, lol. I got into the BIOS and verified all my hardware is detected. Good to go. Also, itās already running 3.03 BIOS. Saves me that step.
All is well so far!

Nice. The laptop I received yesterday had 3.02 BIOS. It was simple to upgrade (from Windows at least), but what a difference a day makes.

Yeah, I was surprised to see 3.03 listed in the BIOS because I havenāt seen anyone else yet say theirs came with it. Funny to see the almost exact point at which they made the switch. Manufacture date just said 10/23. So, sometime in October. No surprise there.

I havenāt the faintest idea what happened. The IC just above the āLV6ā silkscreen seems to be the one that burned out.

My package arrived today as well! (NYC metro area.) I wonāt be able to crack the shipping carton open until later tonight. Iām hoping that the shipment is complete and that the hardware will be free of defects. Ah, the anticipation!

The bad news is that I still donāt have my RAM. The good news is that I have put everything together and it seems to work ā no magic smoke and the LED saysā¦ naturally that RAM initialisation failed. Not sure which BIOS version yet. But just another data point into the pile of those who had apparently no issues with the hardware.

Ordered June 15, charged Nov 6, shipped Nov 7, arrived Nov 8 in upstate New York. Super fast.
The only catchā¦ I live in Canada and they shipped to the address I had on the order when I preordered in June. I changed that address about a week later to Canada, and then confirmed with support on Oct 27 that the laptop would actually be shipped to the new address on my file, not the address on the original order.
The good news. I was already heading down to the US for the weekend so I can pick it up then.
