Anti-hair screen mod for Expansion Bay Shell

So I have been basically forced into using my Framework 16 on a bed. (I do not have a proper desk, I’ll be getting one in soon, I know I’m a moron) As a result, I recently had to perform an incredibly annoying repair where I almost had to disassemble the entire laptop due to stray hairs in the heatsink just to fix fan whine. Thankfully, I didn’t have to do that thanks to tweezers, but it made me realize that a screen of some sort in the expansion bay or fans that could catch hairs before they get in would be immensely helpful for those of us who have to use the Framework 16 on our (gasp!) laps.

Right now I’m mitigating the issue by using the laziest preset on Framework Fan Control (which turns the fan off below 45 Celsius). If anyone has ideas on how to put in an anti-hair shield, I would be all ears. Stopping hairs from getting into the fans at all would be best so I didn’t wear out the Expansion Bay connectors cleaning out my fans, but stopping hairs from getting into the heatsink would be a huge quality of life upgrade in terms of fixing fan whine.

Increasing the Framework 16’s ability to passively cool itself would also be nice, since that would mean less chances for the hair to be sucked up. Decreasing the chance of sucking up spare hairs would be great.

This also is not terribly urgent, as hopefully very soon I will have a proper desk setup.

Maybe you can buy one of those attachable dust filter thingy and apply it over the opening inside expansion bay? that might prevent hair from entering/being sucked into fans.

Another alternative, is this:

You put the laptop on a soft tray. I keeps the heat away, and also allows the gap under laptop so that it has room for air intake for cooling.

This would also reduce the likelihood of hair ingress.
