Hello
I’m currently using the FW16 with Ubuntu.
I can’t turn on the backlight with the fn+space key.
What should I do?
Searching I found this
I installed chromium, went to https://keyboard.frame.work/
I tried to connect the keyboard and I get these errors:
timestamp | productName | vendorId | productId | message |
---|---|---|---|---|
13:25:07.464 | Framework Laptop 16 Keyboard Module - ISO | 0x32AC | 0x0018 | Error: Failed to open the device. |
13:25:07.511 | Framework Laptop 16 Numpad Module | 0x32AC | 0x0014 | Error: Failed to open the device. |
13:25:07.521 | Framework Laptop 16 Keyboard Module - ISO | 0x32AC | 0x0018 | Received invalid protocol version from device |
13:25:07.529 | Framework Laptop 16 Numpad Module | 0x32AC | 0x0014 | Received invalid protocol version from device |
Apologies for not getting a better pointer. Since then I have been told the backlight should be independent of the OS so maybe an official query to Framework may help, but they are no doubt busy.
So have you | can you try with another Dist or OS to confirm whether or not it is an OS issue. I only have the 13" which is fine with Win 11 and Ubuntu 24.04
Hello,
I’d like to add that the backlight doesn’t work under Windows 11 either.
During Windows installation, the numeric keypad’s backlight came on. But not the keyboard.
Let me clarify:
Attached is a screenshot showing that windows and bios are up to date.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
