Is it possible to upgrade the battery on the 13” AMD from the 55wh to the 61wh without upgrading the motherboard?
Yes, the board should have the firmware for it.

The firmware update for the 11th and 12th gen boards isn’t out yet, but when it does come out you will be able to use the 61Wh battery with all 13" mainboards.
