Best path for upgrade FW 13 11Geni5 32G

Hello, I’d like to upgrade to a Intel Core or AMD but need 32G of RAM. Light gaming. Linux. Which would be the best upgrade path, price wise?

If you’re going to be getting RAM anyways, I would go for AMD based on performance metrics (skip to 6:31 in Youtube vid: Elevated System’s Framework 13 with Ryzen AI: The Good, the Bad & the Battery - https://youtu.be/51W0eq7-xrY?si=MnWNpe40qvIQEXCt) and longevity of having DDR5 memory. Personally, I think the Ryzen 7 7840U is not a bad option with its discounted price. It did just as well as the Ryzen AI 7 350, if not slightly outperforming in several benchmarks (as seen in Elevated Systems YT vid) and similarly in outperforming if not performing just as well as the Intel Ultra 7 155H (skip to 0:44 in the Youtube vid Just Josh’s Framework 13 Core Ultra Review - https://youtu.be/dzmztevtpWQ?si=5y4NSaS37YJKZluU).

I’ve been using a FW13 11th Gen i7 64G since 2021. Linux as well. Mostly programming and 3D rendering. (Have considered duel booting with Windows for gaming as I haven’t gotten into Linux compatible games yet. Any recommendations for games similar to TLOU would be welcome.) Probably can get another year or two out of my machine before upgrading but I’ll be switching to an AMD Ryzen 7 too. If I had to upgrade now I would pick the 7840U.

If you are still on the fence between AMD vs Intel then skip to 3:15 on this performance review Youtube vid: Just Josh’s Framework 13 (AMD & Intel) Review: One is AWESOME, the other is not! - https://youtu.be/uwr14Q4C9gY?si=H0boNXG2L5T5Ara5 . This doesn’t include the Core Ultra because that hadn’t come out when that video was made but if you’re focused on price, you’re probably not thinking of purchasing the Core Ultra anyhow. Hope this helps.
