About to update to AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 - which just shipped :tada:

My question is - I’ve done various hardware swaps so far (the 120Hz display, larger battery, 2nd gen camera), all straightforward… with a mainboard swap, what will I need to do beyond the hardware side? Both Intel and AMD run x86-64 architecture binaries, so should I expect that this is just a drop-in replacement, and that I can then carry on with the same Linux installation? or, are there specific packages or other updates I’ll need to do on the software side?

Thanks for any advice, just looking to be prepared!

uninstall intel-ucode and install amd-code.. technically not really required in any way, but recommended practice.

i’m assuming you don’t have secureboot enabled.

Funny you should mention secure boot - I recently turned it off, so that I could enjoy hibernate! So, not any more :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the hint on the microcode packages!
