Does anybody know if it’s possible to buy a framework laptop without webcam + microphone + speakers + fingerprint reader? I’m new to the ecosystem, but it appears everything else is optional, except those. Is that correct? I don’t personally need them. Looking at the marketplace, it could be costing an extra $80, which to me is not so negligible.
I’d also be interested in a version without the battery, because this qualifies it as hazmat and makes it more complicated to ship (I plan to reship it after framework delivers it).
the fingerprint reader is needed as it is the power button. It is honestly cheaper to buy a whole laptop than buying just individual price iirc

It’s not possible to order the Laptop without those components.
Without the microphone and webcam, you’d have weird holes in the screen bezel, without the fingerprint reader, you would have no power button. Removing the battery and speakers is less of a problem, but starting the laptop without a battery requires putting the mainboard into a standalone mode.
additionally, its more expensive to buy everything separately

Personally, I find the holes and switches weird looking already, I would much rather prefer a completely blank bezel. But maybe that’s a discussion for another thread.
