it would be nice if i could use the parts from the 16 on the 13 since framework is a repairable it would make since to be able to use some parts on the 13 instead of buying a whole new laptop.
You can use the expansion cards, camera, SSD, and possibly the RAM (depending on the processor on the 13) from the 16 in the 13.
What parts are you hoping would be cross-compatible?
The motherboard, heatsink, keyboard, touchpad, bezel and display won’t transfer over bc theyre too big… everything else should be fine though
I want the parts that can’t go on the 13 like bord gpu in Modded way that it can work
there is literally not physical space in the fw13 for either the fw16 mainboard or the dgpu. you might be able to get it to fit but it wouldn’t be functional and might involve a hydraulic press

Better off stretching the case to the size of a 16 … oh, but hten it would be paper thin and have no strength, so may as well just buy an FL16 …

No. Because there is no room in the 13 case.
yeah thats the point… it would require no dgpu, a completely custom heatsink and no expansion cards. then it might fit but at that point its cheaper to just buy a fw13

well i think only option if i want to still do it is trim the parts the only one that might work is the keyboard or just get a new case and all and put old board in i just want fw to make parts of the 16 for the 13 so i dont have to buy a whole new laptop
the keyboard can’t be interchangeable with the fw13. even if the electronics weren’t way different, the mounting is completely different and it’s much thicker, even without adding the input deck that would be needed to make it work.
if you want to switch to an fw13 just sell your fw16, theyve retained value pretty well

yeah honestly your best option is to just sell your 13 as barebones and keep your ram and storage and expansion cards
that isn’t even remotely how engineering works.
they are substantially different machines, with very limited cross-compatibility. only things that are already standardized (ram and nvme) and the expansion cards can be shared.
you can’t “just trim” any of the rest, because they actually need all of what’s in them.
besides, they already made framework 13 compatible amd parts from the same cpu generation, in the form of the amd framework 13 mainboards.
