Logged in, ten minutes later, I cannot find how to change password.
I’ve never liked this forum software. I find it vague and unstructured, and now I can’t find how to change the password. I may be stupid, but it seems to me this should be straightforward.
So - guidance please - how to change password?
Also, given data breach, shouldn’t a password change be forced on all users?
(Oh God the minimum two topics - and the topic finder far as I can see just doesn’t work. Every time I post I run into this problem. I’ve added random topics.)
you go to frame.work → login to your account (or use the forgot password in the login page) → then go to account details and there is a button to change your password.
So, I’m logged in - I mean I’m posting, right? : - ) (excuse the spaces, forum software has problems with manual emoji)
Can you tell me where “Account Details” is?
I’ve an icon top right corner, with first letter of my name. Far as I know I’ve been through everything in there, and after some digging found the preferences panel, and there’s nothing in there I could see to change password.
Do you mean “Profile”?
The profile has a preferences button, but I can’t find a change password in there.
I’ve also just noticed I can’t see any way to log out.
There’s no log out option/button/link, not that I can see.
When clicking on your initial or profile picture on mobile at the bottom is a little person looking icon. Touch/click that and there is a logout option there.
Otherwise if you go into the profile settings there is one tab called security. At the bottom is a link to logout of all devices. Hope that helps.

There’s a little vertical icon strip on the right. I missed this many times, but eventually noticed it. Hold your pointer over each icon to get the pop-up to figure out what it is, then select the final icon, “profile”.
You now are looking at your profile page. There’s a lot on this page, but the right-most entry in the horizontal menu bar is “preferences”. Click on that.
This brings up another menu bar. Now click on “security”. (I tried a number of others first, of course).
Now, finally, bottom of page, “log out all”.
It seems to me the forum is, frankly, a bit deranged. This is a very complicated, time consuming path to something which should be a top-level option.
I didn’t get that I had to leave the forum to change the password for the forum, and so I was still looking around here, in the forum where - as indeed you say - there is no option to change the password.
Yeah. I’ve had enough of this forum. It’s never been pleasant to use, but now its wasting my time for things which should be no-brainers
Ah. Huh. There’s not going to be any simple way - maybe it doesn’t exist? - to delete the account. I just had a look.
I will email Support. Framework made this problem, they can handle it.
The forum software Discourse is configured to use your Framework account - your Framework account effectively becomes a single sign-on provider. So while it can have its own account system, it does not need it for FW’s case.
You can change your FW password here: https://frame.work/gb/en/profile/settings. Your locale and language in the path might be different, but that one works for me.
Finally, your account password was not compromised in the data theft, so it is not necessary to change your password. Of course, it is harmless to do so.
