Display Brightness not adjustable

So, on my AMD Framework 13 I can not adjust the brightness in Ubuntu.
The fn-Keys do not change anything.
The little pop-up window with the brightness slider does appear and it is adjusting according to the key-presses. However, the display stays on high brightness.

All other fn-Keys work (e.g. Flight mode, Speakers/Mute, etc.)

In Windows 10 Pro the brightness fn keys are working (always have, nothing had to ever be modded).

If anyone has an idea, I’d be very thankful
I do not need the automatic / ambient adjustment. I only need the manual adjustment to actually do anything

The following argument has been added to the kernel in Grub: module_blacklist=hid_sensor_hub

Additional info that the forum prompted me to give:
Which Linux distro are you using?
Ubuntu 20.04 focal

Which kernel are you using?
x86_64 Linux 5.12.0-130-generic

Which BIOS version are you using?
unsure, but definitely the latest available (updated last week)

Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using? (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series)

Hm… I’ll try an update to 24.04.1 and see if that helps … :man_shrugging:

All right.
The problem was solved by installing a fresh Noble Numbat alongside W10 instead of Focal Fossa.
No idea if this is fixable on Focal, but I’ll stay on Noble for now …

On Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 older kernels won’t work. If you need to use older Ubuntu you at a minimum need a newer kernel - 6.0.y or later IIRC for Phoenix.
