The brightness keys (F7/F8) on my DIY edition Framework 13 laptop I just got don’t seem to work. The brightness slider and the auto adjust using the ambient light sensor work but the keyboard keys don’t. All the other media keys and stuff work fine.
I saw some post about a similar problem on the 12th gen laptops. Do I need to use the same workaround for mine?
Edit: For clarification this is on the Intel 13 gen.
Assuming you got the Intel 13th gen, you need to run the command listed here at the bottom of the page: https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/linux-docs/blob/main/Fedora39-13thGen.md
Note that this will disable the auto adjust as Linux only supports one of the brightness control methods at the same time.
Hi @Durrel_Charlton ,
Welcome to the forums, Is this with AMD Ryzen 7040?
And if you’re using Ubuntu 22.04, you may need to update it with OEM kernel.
For anyone that finds this.
what he said but here’s a link specifically for 13th Gen Intel® Core™ Framework Laptop 13 running Ubuntu 22.04LTS: https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/linux-docs/blob/d3bd135cf8ddf24a69bd17ec024ba7da01c273a7/Ubuntu22.04LTS-Manual-Setup-13thGen.md
