Does Linux Mint 22.2's new fingerprint configurator work out of the box with the Laptop 16?

Which Linux distro are you using?

Linux Mint

Which release version?
(if rolling release without a release version, skip this question)

22.2 ‘Zara’

I don’t have a Framework Laptop, but I wanted to know if Fingwit (shows up as Fingerprints in the menu) works with the Laptop 16 out of the box, and if it would constitute updating the Laptop 16’s Linux page.

Hi @Mosnar23

Yep, I have a FW Laptop 16 running LM 22.2 and Fingwit runs without any issues.

I agree with you… that page you mention could do with an update however, that’s someone else’s call.

Cool. Thanks!

Its supported per:

The device is:
27c6:609c Shenzhen Goodix Technology Co.,Ltd. Goodix Fingerprint USB Device

I dont agree w/an update to the linux page, as the distro is not supported by Framework. They don’t officially test if it works on LM, and any changes to LM or Fingwit may break support for the sensor (any many other things). Hence “Not officially supported” should stay for anything that is a Community Supported Distro.
