Sorry, how are they broken?
It’s not intelligent. So they have never be able to show a preview of the specific content one might be interested in from a link. It just uses the title and description of the page.

id expect to go to whatever is in the embed so i would like it changed at some point
The forum run on the Discourse open source forum system. So it would be entirely dependent on whether there exists a better solution for Discourse that is practical to implement.
If you’ve seen a Discourse forum with better embeds, you could ask them what’s used for it and suggest it for here.
OP’s screenshot appears to be from a Discord server. I’m not sure they are posting about embeds on this forum.
