External Docks that accept 2 USB4 connections

Hi,

The FW13 and FW16 have 2 USB4 ports that support thunderbolt 3 type devices.
Does anyone know if there are any external Docks that accept 2 USB4 ports, thus allowing 8 PCIe lanes to the dock?
I don’t exactly know how the laptop would load balance across the 2 USB4 ports, but thought I would ask, in case anyone has come across such a thing.

I have seen Docks with multiple USB C In and an intigrated KVM. But with merging PCIe Lanes that way i am pretty sure thats impossible. Just look up what a pain it is to splitt them for multiple M.2 in one x16 Slot, that board does support it the other don’t, some CPUs don’t do it even if the board can and so on.

Pretty sure thats what the iVanky FusionDock Max 1 is supposed to do, but they seem to be specifically targeting macbook so I have no idea if it would work with anything else.

it says its not compatible with pc or intel macbooks-- will it even work on most x86 machines?
I’m sure it could be done but is it worth the time?

Even if there was such a dock you could not combine the lanes of the 2 ports for a single device.

Thank you for the input.
Summary: Not currently possible.

But I think people are thinking about:
e.g.
Multipathing PCI-Express Storage

Maybe not a great leap until they multipath GPUs.

pcie standards group WE WANT REVERSE PCIE BIFURCATION
would that be combination?

That’s probably more something you’d have to ask the usb if for

yeah, just joking around with this
