Fan blowing incessantly, making laptop unusable

Hello, my FW 13 with intel 11th gen, i7 1185 started blowing it’s fan at full throttle on and off about 3 weeks back.

Now it goes on as soon as I switch the machine on, where it does not matter if it boots to win 11 or Linux Mint - so not software related. - and does not switch off at all. Even during a restart the fan does not switch off at all.

After searching in the forum I found and applied the suggested solution from Max_Klassen, thanks for that.

I did also contact FW support and they suggested to reset the BIOS and to also reset the mainboard.

Changed BIOS settings from Turbo to Max power,

BIOS is up to date,

Installed fw-ctrl,

all to no avail.

Temperature usually sits bet 34 and 50 degrees C.

As it is, I cannot really use the machine at the moment because of the noise.

In another thread in the forum Kevin_Kinney seems to have had the same issue, which was resolved by changing the fan. Unfortunately, I cannot see the fan on the parts page for the 11th gen intel chip - actually the only one there is, is for the Ryzen AI 300.

Could they be modified to fit to other chips?

As much as I am convinced of the framework approach, the fan issue seems to be common and now not finding a heat sink is obviously unacceptable.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome.

I can find the Fan-Kit on the parts page. Is it different in your region?
