So my fwl12 keeps randomly buzzing and sounds like its grinding against the chassis a lot. I also get random errors about the fan not being installed on boot? I made sure to clean the headers. During assembly you do not plug in the fan header. I made sure both the male and female side were cleaned using a little compressed air. During the error on boot, it will have the fan running. The fan will spin up to 100% a lot when I close the laptop. Anyone have ideas on how I can fix this without resorting to an RMA?

Based on what you have written it sounds like your fan could have a material defect or have some other kind of issue. You might need a new fan. I think an RMA and working with support is perhaps unavoidable.

Hi, I’ve just started having the same issue last night randomly after using the laptop for a few hours. It sounds like my fan is lightly rubbing against the housing as it spins. Just raised a support ticket, hopefully hear something back soon!
