so i updated the keyboard driver BIG MISTAKE and yes i could reinstall the driver bundle but why not have them FUCKING SEPERATE so i dont have to update all the fucking drivers again. plus im having problems with system restore so thats out the windows. for fuck sake its like you just made you money and given up!!!
Just out of curiosity, but did support asks you to update your keyboard driver? As for reinstalling your drivers via the driver package; I can see that it is mildly annoying to have to reinstall ALL of them, but admittedly it isn’t something you really do all that often. AND it if it fixes the problem, is it really that bad?
Issues with system restore really have nothing to do with Framework.
Let the community help. We just need some more information. It might not be as obvious with Windows, as there are admittedly not as many problems reported, but if you look at the Linux side of the house, you can see that there is a lot of effort going into to supporting every Framework owner.
Any decent ZIP utility (I use 7-zip) can extract the driver bundle to a folder containing each driver in a neat folder of its own.
I don’t know about you, but I am not inclined to help anybody who swears.
You know that no matter what help you offer is not going to result in a pleasant experience.
I uninstalled the driver and installed the driver pack and it works but now all the other drivers are out of date. suppose it makes little difference any how!
How do you use 7zip to take out the drivers. i have attempted some thing like that in the passed without success.
With 7-zip installed, right-click the driver package .exe and select 7-zip → Extract files…
That will let you select a folder to extract the files to. After extracting the files, find the driver you want to reinstall in the folder you selected.
I don’t have an AMD FW laptop, so I have no idea what keyboard driver you are talking about specifically.
I don’t see your support request, did you contact support with another email address/account not tied to your Framework account?
FYI: There is no keyboard driver in the driver bundle.
The keyboard presents in the same way as a legacy PS/2 keyboard from the IBM PS/2.
It has drivers that have remained relatively unchanged for the last two decades in all major operating systems.
I am relatively confident that you did not update those.
Im very confident that just uninstalling and reinstalling from device manager installs the incorrect driver and uninstalling it and installing the driver bundle works because i just did it!!!
Ive sorted it but i would still request if it helps resolve it (I’ve fixed it on mine but I’m sure other people are having the same issue)
NOT COMPLETELY SOLVED my ctrl, fn, windows button and alt doesnt work!!!
