I have noticed cracks in the bottom cover of my Framework 12, near the screws. I have submitted a support ticket and the replacement process has been going smoothly.
I do have a curiosity, could I receive a sage bottom cover instead of the colour I originally bought the laptop in? For purely cosmetic reason, I’m wondering if this is possible or the warranty strictly only covers the same piece?
Usually, warranty will only issue a replacement which is exactly the same. Unless the part is just not available.
The reason is, for some people, if they want a different part they are quite willing to break it on purpose in order to get it for free. So, like in a lot of other places in the world, bad actors ruin it for everyone. Same item only replacements are just standard for most companies.
