Framework 12 - EInk Display Option?

I understand that the unit economics of such an option would be a bit bleak, but reflecting on my experience with a cracked Remarkable device where the only option for the unit was to send it back to the manufacturer and get a discount on a refurbished one; it would be quite nice to have an e-ink display option to compete with the remarkable offerings.

I am certainly no engineer or product manager, but maybe one day we could start a kickstarter or some other crowdfund sometime to meet the MOQ to get such an idea in production

There is a 12” e-ink display with 60Hz apparently (I would be surprised if you could just make it fit though. But if anyone has too much free time and wants to try:

Edit: Never mind, the 60Hz is the 10.3” and I can’t find the 12” on the Dasung store page.

I would love an eink display option for my FW12, does not even need to be high refresh rate for me and how I use my FW12 as I also have a FW16 for more typical usage

Blegh, I’ve been working for a few hours and my eyes hurt.

I immediately thought back to this thread, Modos Paper Monitor | Crowd Supply I really wish we could get a custom display module for this on the framework 13, maybe I’ll put the elbow work into making this guy work on my FW16

I would love a FW 12 with e-ink!

Supernote is a device that has more of a Framework mindset with respect to repairability etc. - maybe that would be a good Remarkable replacement?

I’ll look into it! My heart broken when my paper pro move screen cracked and all the company wanted to do was replace it, not repair it.
