Framework 13 fans speed up when plugged into j5create100w charger

Running Windows 11 on the AMD 7640U. Recently ordered and since the power adapter was out of stock I grabbed a j5create 100w charger from Best Buy but whenever I plug it in the fans start to ramp up REALLY fast and it gets warm quick, i don’t have this issue using my gfs macbook charger. Is there something with this charger causing this?

You can do a “controlled variable” experimentation.

Boot up your computer then immediately smash F2 to go to the BIOS. In BIOS the operating system is not loaded, there’s no power management but the computer is not doing demanding work. Plug in the j5create 100W charger and wait at the BIOS screen for the temperature and fan speed to stabilize as your computer reaches thermal equilibrium. Then do the same this time with the MacBook charger. The temperature and fan speed should be the same since the BIOS is consuming 20W-ish power constantly.

If the computer is significantly hotter on the j5create in BIOS that indicates there might be a problem with the charger. If the temperature is the same in BIOS but hotter on Windows, it’s probably a Windows problem for too much background tasks, in this case debloat your Windows
