I got a mystery box mainboard. It works fine on a battery, but cannot charge a battery, and cannot be run on direct power. I tried powering it through a 5v USB-C, which triggered overvoltage protection on the battery I was using, which I believe indicates a short. This was the same for all USB-C inputs.
I believe I’ve identified the faulty component, though I won’t be able to confirm it is the extent of the problem until I replace it. The following components next to the battery input have continuity. If someone could please tell me what each of these are, I will attempt to replace them. Looking up the diagram and the visible item codes has not provided any clarification.
Edit: running a reddit thread as well which identified the biggun as a tantalum capacitor 33uF. Lens says E means 25v. I think we’re done here.
