Long story short coffee + backpack + monitor = half screen is color brownish…
Monitor is working but the coffee stain is bad and very noticable.
i ordered a new monitor and i was thinking of using the old one on top of my network rack as a kvm monitor using vga adapter.
Is this possible? what would i need? ribbon cable? power adapter?
Also the cost must be below 100 euros cause thats what a new KVM monitor will cost me anyway.
If you can find a vga to 40pin 4-lane edp adabter it should work, not sure if those exist. Dp and hdmi to 40pin 4-lane edp do exist though.
You can get an eDP to DP board and then convert DP to HDMI.
That’s what I use for my Raspberry PI + Framework project.
So basically:

and

If your device has DisplayPort, then you can skip the adapter.
What all only works if all signals are digital.
If you really need to use VGA, you have to find a way to turn DP to VGA.
