Framework 13 trackpad sticking when clicked

I purchased a Framework 13 back in May, and it is mostly working well but I am having issues with the trackpad. It still functions but over the last month or so it has developed a weird sticking behaviour. Whenever it is pressed down slightly (with less force than is required for the mechanical click to engage), it feels like it’s catching on something, which leads to a noticeable clicking sound when released.
This also happens when the touchpad is pressed enough to engage the mechanical click, leading to a double clicking sound/sensation when released.

This behaviour makes using the trackpad pretty annoying, and I’m worried that its either defective or something internal has broken on it, which is going to cause more problems down the line. Has anyone else had this issue before, and if so, what did you do to resolve it?

One quick/easy/important thing to check: Have a look at the battery, does it look like it’s bulging? The high capacity one especially can do that if kept at 100% for long periods of time. That has been known to cause trackpad issues as a side-effect. If you have a 6 month old laptop/battery that’s affected FW will replace it under warranty.
