Framework "Keyboard Computer"?

Just a thought but I think quite a few people would be interested in an all-in-one keyboard PC.

I do know a lot of people love that all in one retro vibe and I think you’d be leaders in the market if Framework were to produce one with your existing module system. The Raspberry Pi Foundation made one but the keyboard is nothing to write home about.

The laptops are cool but I think if you were able to create a nice mechanical all-in-one keyboard PC you’d really have something special. I don’t think it necessarily needs to be as thick as something like a Commodore 64. I do know it would be front page news on quite a few electronics sites.

Happy to test any of those prototypes of course. :smirk:

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Do you mean no screen but keep the keyboard and battery and expansion slots

have you seen the RasberryPi

Funny you should mention C64, because that’s exactly what CJ of Elevared Systems made out of a framework:

And it did make front page news iirc (at least for the first edition).

You can probably find more projects by searching “cyberdeck” here on the forums.

The c64x has been doing the rounds. These are basically mini itx cases with a real keyboard. Could be a fun project to retrofit a framework mainboard. Unfortunately all that retro goodness is about 300Uusd shipped.
