Framework Laptop 13 61Wh Battery UK availability

That’s very annoying.

When I saw the email notification yesterday evening, I made sure to order before I went to bed when there was still stock for fear of it going out of stock by today. I’m glad I did given your experience.

I’m in the same boat as others on here. I’ve got a swollen battery that I’ve removed for safety, and a laptop that’s about as portable as one of those useless “desktop” systems Framework seem to be pouring development time in to.

I wasn’t lucky enough to secure a battery in that last batch of stock. Apparently some people ordered multiple batteries, so the stock went very quicky.

@Destroya Any idea when stock will come back in again? I’ve been waiting months now, and having missed that last batch … will it be months again? I have two support tickets in, that have gone unanswered. I can send a picture of my dangerous battery if that would help. The laptop is only just over 2 years old.

Ugh, my battery is swollen and I can’t buy a replacement in the USA, and looks like it’s out of stock for a month already? And there were recurring availability problems since the beginning of the year?

That’s really hurts the trust in Framework’s promises of repairability.

Battery is The part that needs regular replacements. When settling on framework I had my share of concerns where I’ll buy a replacement battery in 3 years if FW fails as a company and is not around. Turns out that you can’t buy it when Framework is still afloat.

Trust takes long to build and fast to lose. This sucks, folks.

That’s a pretty shocking response - given Framework’s ethos of repairability and mod-ability, the only reasonable response to “why (would you) need to purchase a 61Wh battery” is “because I want to”. Having to go through a support interrogation to buy a simple replacement part is absolutely unacceptable, and VERY disappointing to see coming from Framework.

I can see now that both batteries are currently out of stock on the marketplace. If this continues to be the case, I may consider selling my Framework, because I simply can’t trust that parts will be available when I need them, and suspect that I may have to go through an arduous support process, only to be told they’re not in stock.

Framework - please stop this practice of prioritising new business at the expense of your existing users, and actually listen.
