Why are batteries, mainboards and back covers for the flagship 13 model are becoming impossible to order?
As a business we have gradually shifted away from the standard laptop brands to Framework for sustainability reasons. Unfortunately, the stock issues are becoming such a big problem that if they don’t improve, we will likely change course stop buying Framework.
The Framework support teams are great and will try to get you parts if you push for them, but it shouldn’t require 6 emails to get a new battery to replace your failing one.
While Framework product team keep releasing new models (desktop, 16, 12), we just need a standard well built business laptop that we can upgrade and repair without any headaches. More new models seem to be distracting the team from fixing stock issues.
I’ve also been waiting for months for them to come back in stock, checked this morning and found that the 61 kwh was finally back! Then I added it to my cart and got the following error message upon checkout, for reference, I am a US-based customer:
Sorry, we only have stock of that item at our non-US warehouse. You can only purchase it when combined with a laptop order.
This is starting to become a headache. The whole reason I bought framework is so that when my battery is shot, I DON’T have to order a new laptop with my battery… Can someone (ideally from framework) let us know when batteries will be back in stock for individual purchase?
This is utterly unacceptable! These laptops continue to be a nightmare. My heatsink and fan on my 11th gen model failed just a little over a year after I bought it, and now the part is completely out of stock. It’s outrageous that such a critical issue remains unresolved! I’m leaving this comment here because this mess must stay front and center on the message boards until they finally fix this—enough waiting, enough ignoring the problem!
