We have released the latest driver bundle for the Framework Laptop 13 AMD Ryzen™ 7040. Starting with this version, we have integrated the AMD public chipset and graphics driver.
If you are referring to the Framework Laptop 16 AMD Ryzen 7040 series, we have already released the driver bundle that uses the AMD public driver. That driver bundle version is v3.01.
Installed this version and it seemed to fix some instability I encountered after installing the v2.06 (ca. a week ago, had explorer hang ups and crashes afterwards). But I had a problem with the installation: it stopped after/during step 2. After half an hour without any progress I just hit Enter in the command line window. It displayed “Process completed” (or sth. similar) and continued to install the other drivers.
Not sure if this was BIOS or Driver improvement but the Wi-Fi card comes out of sleep instantly on my Framework 13 on Windows 11. It’s a huge improvement.
@Quin_Chou with this release, just to clarify, since this bundle runs the public AMD driver, if there is an update available in Adrenalin is it OK to proceed? Or should we still wait for Framework driver bundles?
For what it’s worth, I’ve updated all the AMD drivers twice since the ones included here without problems.
I’m now on whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25.12.1-win11-b.exe and AMD_Chipset_Software_7.11.26.2142.exe.
