Framework Laptop 16 Anodization and Coloring

I follow the Framework instagram account, and I was reminded today of why Framework doesn’t offer color options for the chassis (reason being dyeing creates waste products.) However, upon looking at images of the 16, it appears that multiple parts of the laptop are black, namely the top ‘grill’ piece, the keyboard (not the key caps, the base itself), and some of the customization panels. Are these black plastic, or anodized black aluminum, or maybe something else? If they are black anodized aluminum, doesn’t this go against the want to reduce the waste products of the dyeing process?

To clarify, I completely understand, and am okay with the reasoning given, just curious about that specific process of the 16’s manufacturing process.

Black plastic.
