My son purchased a Framework Laptop 16 while he is in high school, expecting to use it throughout college. Just over one year after purchase, the mainboard failed completely, rendering the laptop unusable. A mainboard is a critical component, and for it to fail so soon is extremely disappointing.

Yes, he contacted support and opened a ticket. The laptop stopped powering on and was diagnosed as a mainboard failure through troubleshooting with support. No updates, modifications, or hardware changes were made to the mainboard prior to the failure. My son is familiar with computer hardware and followed standard usage and handling practices. After we purchased a replacement mainboard, he installed it, and the laptop is now working.
