So this really isn’t a reply to MarcoJ but is moreso some statistics of the 1080+ comments
I went through about 600 posts from the start and noted each unique user who joined in on this discussion and voiced their opinion. I rated each user’s stance as
- For sponsorship
- Against sponsorship
- Unknown (for various reasons such as having their message hidden)
- unsure (if it’s not clear enough to deduce)
The results are thus
Out of 164 users… (As of this edit there are 243 unique users in this discussion)
- 38 have voiced support for sponsorship,
- 117 have voiced that they are against sponsorship.
as a percentage that is 75.5% (75.48) or to put it another way, out of a 100 people, 75 would be against framework sponsoring HyprLand and Omarchy.
It is thus that a great number of people do not support this. I accept there might be a few mistakes in my data collection and judgement but I don’t think there’s many. You are welcome to review my data or conduct your own analysis of the thread.
And out of the remaining 80ish unique users I haven’t looked at, it’s unlikely to be overturned. It would have to be almost all of them saying they’re for sponsorship.
Now some folks will say, oh this is brigading or oh this is just activists, in an effort to discredit the majority. I’m sure most are nice people in real life, but I don’t think they are engaging in good faith today. A lot of it feels low effort and I think we should ignore them. They’re not here to understand why so many people aren’t happy and the only reason they see that a majority of people aren’t happy, is we must be “activist” (used derogatorily) or we must be brigading, or even that We’re not real fans of framework.
They’re not worth our time. We don’t have to prove anything to these folks. @TheEvilSkeleton @Ryuka @Senhara <3
