Well, this is disappointing, as someone who has actively worked on Framework platform support for FreeBSD and as someone who just bought another 13” and went from feeling excited to bummed.

DHH is a truly odious person, and honestly brings very little to the table at this point. Sounds like Framework doesn’t have the spine to actually pull back on the sponsorship, but hopefully we can see less gushing in the future, and ideally no renewal of funding to DHH projects.

Opinions are not evidence. What people are claiming about here breaks the law in most countries. If this were true he could be sued on top of criminal proceedings.

No, none of that has happened. The rantings of people and opinions do not make something true.

Stop being vague. Say specifically which claims are unfounded, and why the cited “opinion” is wrong.

1. DHH does not view non-white britains as british
2. He thinks England should be for british people only
3. He expresses his support for people and events that demand an ethnic cleansing - of citizens and non-citizens alike - by deporting them to wherever their ancestry supposedly comes from.
4. Historically, this has never worked without killing a lot of minorities

From what I understand, they never financially supported Omarchy. Only Hyprland.

If your friends broke the law to be there, then if they are prosecuted and subsequently deported it is exactly how law and order have worked for centuries.

did you read the article linked in the OP? DHH isn’t advocating for people breaking the law to be punished– as far as I can tell, and if that’s not the case he should really clarify his stance, he considers it wrong that non-white people live in London

Would you want to “calm down and get along” when people give support to people that want YOU and YOUR friends dead or deported?

Well, no one seems to be asking “Why?”.
Once each side asks that about 5 times, and both sides listen to the answers, the situation tends to calm down, but that still only really works with one-to-one conversations.

To be honest, I am quite surprised this thread has not descended into personal attacks, as most of these topics tend to.

Do you really think expressing fascist opinions, saying “all non-whites should be deported” or “trans people do not deserve to survive” would get you into trouble with the law in the US? The current administration there violates the law, even the constitution all the time and only gets through with that because SCOTUS blatantly rubber-stamps that.

Evidence is tangible. It is not an opinion. The links in this threat are to opinion pieces by obvious activists of a particular slant. If any of the claims about death are true, they are illegal.

I repeat, if true, they are illegal. There are NO indictments. NONE. This means that these claims are baseless. They are defamation.
