Framework Tablet PC

I do not know where to put this, or even if it has a proper “place” so general topics is where it will go.

Rant: Tablets are terrible!

A tablet is the strange middle child between a dedicated laptop and dedicated phone. The problem is that tablets dont have more power then a phone and more functionality of a laptop.

A tablet to me is a portable pc that doesnt work like a phone. it doesnt need cameras or a microphone. it doesnt need cellular connectivity. it just needs to connect to the internet and be drop resistent and water resistent.

I have seen people using their phones in the bathroom, blasphemy, it should be a tablet.

I have seen people use a phone in the kitchen for recipe videos. It should be a tablet.

E-reader? Tablet!

A tablet is a portable ammusement device for walking around the house when you dont have to be on call. the cameras should be optional, the microphone should be optional. the stuff that comes on the tablet, should be as custimizable and optional as possible.

So i ask, when will we be able to make a frame work tablet that lets us choose what we really want?

I dont want to jump through 1000 hoops to remove apps or debloat a tablet. I dont want cameras that could be used for spying, much less a microphone.

If i want to use blutooth, then i would like that hardware to be an option. if i want a battery the size of mars, i would liek to have that choice.

I even want to pick the back plate so that it can have some texture. What if i want more then 2gb ram? What if i want to be overkill and have 16? 32?! 64?!?!

What if i want a laptop grade processor in my tablet? Or perhaps i want the option to have a headphone jack? or recharge via a microusb, or plug in extra storage?

The options that exist for the framework laptop could possibly work on a tablet.

For that i am willing to pay the price, so here is your demand for customizable tablets. (you might need to make a custom os for it or an os choice)

And …. what part of a Framework 12 doesn’t fit that description … :open_hands:
