Hi Framework Team and Community,
First of all, I am a huge fan of what you guys are doing. If I ever need to buy a laptop, Framework is at the top of my list.
I want to pitch an idea that I believe could be a game-changer: A Modular Framework Tablet or Smartphone paired with a Desktop Dongle Ecosystem.
While laptops are great, phones and tablets are the ultimate mobile devices. Imagine a modular mobile device where we have the absolute freedom to install either Android or a Linux distro.
The core idea is hardware convergence. People could use the tablet/phone for ultra-mobile work while commuting or sitting at a cafe. Then, once they arrive at the office or home, they simply plug the device into a Framework Desktop Dongle (connected to a larger monitor, keyboard, and mouse) to finish heavy-duty tasks. It offers a seamless transition without needing to sync data across multiple devices.
I think this ecosystem would be the perfect “one device for everyone and everywhere” solution. I’d love to see Framework bring this true modular convergence to life. Let me know what you guys think!
