Framework Webcam breakout/module enclosure

a few weeks ago i got and upgraded the webcam in my framework 16 and was wondering what i could do with the extra webcam module i had now laying around.

i hate extra (e-)waste and since my client requires me to put a webcam on in meetings, and me working on my desktop instead of laptop, i decided to make a lot of waste (lol) to make a stand, interface board and enclosure for the framework webcam module.

i can’t thank you guys enough for all the information you have provided about your hardware and it has made making this go smooth as fuck. the most issues i had were with my 3D printer, and then just 1 minor pcb fuckup on my end.

this could never have been made without the info posted in these threads :

and

anyway, i present to you, my stand & bracket holder for the webcam module :

inside is an interface board that connects to the webcam module over the ribbon connector which works perfectly.

everything is open source and i want this to go out there and add support for the audio too but i have no idea how to do the pcm->usb processing

split post since im a new user and can only link 2 links or 2 images per post, but

the project is @ Project - Platform for creating and sharing projects - OSHWLab (once processed and accepted) and all files can be downloaded here : https://upload.dacotaco.com/files/Framework%20Webcam%20Breakout.zip

they include the blender .blend file, stl’s the sheet & pcb doc too.

in the blender file is the enclosure, a model for the module and pcb and the stand/bracket that i found online and use in this project!

(the left switch, audio, is disabled via the standoff that disables the switch. on the right are some walls to not have any interference with the video switch. ive had some noise come from somewhere and i dont know where? )

enjoy! i know i will haha
