Future development for framework 12 and RISC-V?

Hi all,
I know that framework 12 just has been launched, and we are all waiting for its batches, but I’m just too curious about the future.
Would RISC-V be one of the mainboard options for framework 12 someday?
I think current RISC-V is developer oriented version, so it has to be a few years for this update. However, if there is any plan for RISC-V and potential hardware applications, I think framework laptop 12 would be one of the great candidates!!

DeepComputing mentioned in one of their presentations they were working on RISC-V mainboard for both Framework 16 and Framework 12. Some RISC-V convention, sorry I forget the exact details!

I think you should share this with DeepComputing!

This is super promising!! Thanks for sharing!!

The form factor of the FW12 would profit immensely from an RISC-V- as well as ARM CPU.
Unfortunately current chips from either architecture still lack performance. Personally I am (maybe naively) hoping to upgrade my Laptop 12 with either an AMD-x86, ARM, or RISC-V mainboard in the future.
I went with the lower specced i3, as I already project to upgrade the chip anyway down the line.
