Ubuntu
v24.04
Framework 13 AMD 13th Gen
I powered off the device as normal and left it to charge overnight. Now it shows the gray “Oh no! Something has gone wrong.” screen during start-up. I can get into the BIOS, but no farther. As far as I’m aware, all the software should be up to date (Snaps and apt). Do I need to re-install the OS?
I am also running Ubuntu 24.04 on multiple laptops and had the same problem on my Framework 16 and on a Thinkpad 14s (Intel) today. Therefore I already suspected that this is an Ubuntu problem and not related to Framework.
I then found the fix in the first answer here that solved it for me. It seems that a dependency was broken in the upgrade that then caused the white screen. First time this happened to me for Ubuntu just after a normal update.
Thank you! I also had to learn how to get into recovery mode (which is way more involved of a process than it should be) and networking, but I was able to get there in the end.
